Gransfors Bruks Outdoor Axe #425

The Outdoor Axe is a versatile addition to the Gransfors Bruks range, developed with the help of survival expert Lars Fält*. It is closely related to the Wildlife Hatchet, although it has a thinner, longer handle (14 inches from eye to end) and a smaller head.

A great camp axe with a light weight but handy for light splitting and cutting.

Due to its slightly wedge-shaped blade the Outdoor Axe makes an excellent kindling axe and, as always with Gransfors, great attention has been paid to the balance and overall feel of the axe, making it a pleasure to use. Where the Small Forest Axe is well-sized for bushcraft tasks and still very packable, the Outdoor Axe is a bit lighter and even more packable without sacrificing usability. Equipped with a steel collar beneath the head for protection when splitting kindling.

Length with handle: 37 cm (14.5")
Weight: 0,5 kg (1 lb)
Comes with a grain leather sheath, the Gransfors Bruk Axe Book and a twenty year forging guarantee.

*Lars Fält, who worked with Gränsfors Bruk to design the Gränsfors Outdoor Axe, established the Swedish Armed Forces Survival School and has trained the Swedish Army Ranger Battalion for 35 years at the Ranger School and Parachute Ranger School. He has also written 10 books on survival and outdoor pursuits.
