Casstrom Swedish Forest and Bushcraft knives

Casström is a small, family-owned business based in Lycksele, a town in Swedish Lapland. Founded by David Cassini Backstrom (himself a keen outdoorsman and Lycksele born-and-bred), Casström produce a range of outdoor knives and equipment for bushcraft, hunting, and the outdoors. They have gained a good reputation for making near-custom level knives at an affordable price, and they remain firmly committed to their company ethos of providing quality, value, and good customer service.

November 21: Casstrom have begun a consultation with a Swedish agency on sustainability. It will not garner overnight results, but they hope to have a cohesive sustainability plan in place within the next year.

Their natural knife handles are made from sustainable sources. The steels Casstrom use, by Sandvik and Uddeholm, are recycled. Their leather products are made using European leather, and all of their manufacturing is done in Europe.

The casstrom office is heated and powered by renewable energy in Lapland (wind and water). Our waste is recycled, but that is pretty standard practice with businesses in Sweden, and Leo who manages the office gets the bus to work.
