ProAdventure Llangollen Tentipi Camp

All together in the big Tentipi Zirkonflex Group Tent

Previous Tipicamps:

The UK's first Tentipi Camp was hosted by ProAdventure in 2015 on the banks of the Welsh River Dee and was attended by over 60 people. There was axe throwing, canoeing, cooking competitions, a talk and plenty of opportunity to talk around the campfire with lots and lots of cake. Subsequent camps became busier and busier. The pizza oven became a regular feature and we bless our hearts for all the campers who brought and contributed so much to their success. To the cake bakers and the music makers, the pitchers and the clearer uppers, the talk providers and the blackberry gin brewers, we thank you all! Those early camps were enjoyable but full on hard work for us from start to finish so these days and after a post covid rethink our camps are now much more laid back affairs but we love them just as much. And we still welcome the contributions you tipi-campers make.

Other Tentipi Events
The Highland Tentipi Gathering 2024 was organised by members of the Facebook Tentipi User Group and was at the Ace adventures campsite near the River Findhorn from 28th October to 1st November. Unfortunately we couldn't make it due to staff and family holidays but Lesley and I were there in spirit.
We had a great couple of days at a Yorkshire gathering in 2024 with friendship, food and music a plenty. If you ever meet Jim Kerr the organiser ask about his visits to the Sami in Lapland. He goes up to the winter fair to camp each year and has fascinating insight.

We will be there for all four nights. You can book direct with the campsite for as many days as you want. Call the site direct to book and pay your deposit please. Don't forget to tell them you are booking for the Tipi-Camp. We will be there sometime on Thursday 23rd April and will bring our own Tentipi and our Zirkonflex for group campfires. There are up to 20 pitches available so please book early to avoid disappointment.
Campfires and stoves are allowed if off the ground. Good quality kiln dried wood is better for your stove and the environment. Charcoal and heat logs are available to buy from the campsite.

This will be our third camp at Carrog and we have always been made very welcome here. We are in a different field this time so no crossing the road to go for a shower!
We will have a campfire lit every evening and there will be cake! Join us for a singsong and if you have a Ukelele, guitar or even a double bass we welcome you to bring it along for merriment!
during the day we'll likely be doing some walking, running and boating and some swimming in the river if you are brave enough! You are more than welcome to join us or to do your own thing. The steam railway to Llangollen and Corwen is on the doorstep. Llangollen and its attractions (including a fabulous outdoor shop!) is only 7 miles away. There are various outdoor activity providers in the area if you want excitement and there is a lovely pub in Carrog called the Grouse Inn (booking recommended for food on 01490 430272) Theres a list of things to do in the area on the campsites website.

Day visitors: If you don't have your own Tentipi Tent why not pop by for a chat with those who do. This event is more about community than sales but if you are considering buying a tentipi its a great opportunity to talk to owners and see various sizes and setups. Please call the shop in advance on 01978 860605 so we know to expect you.
