A stylish, well featured and lightweight long-sleeved travel shirt that provides both protection and cooling during a range of activities in humid or dry heat at home and abroad. It is feature equivalent to the men's Katmai shirt.
Made from Parameta A rapid evaporation fabric, which also deters biting insects, this is a must have garment for low level walking, hill walking, trekking, backpacking, sightseeing and safaris.
The dense weave fabric provides excellent UV protection (UPF 50+), while the secure cuff closures, closely spaced buttons and a traditional high fastening collar all deter biting insects and provide increased wind and sun protection.
- Two chest pockets with button closures allow for easily accessible storage.
- One large discreet pocket underneath the left chest pocket accommodates an OS-map.
- Articulated sleeves ensure maximum freedom of movement.
- A scooped back hem provides additional weather protection.
- Flat shoulder seems ensure minimal rucksack rub in the shoulder area.
- Soft fleece farbic at the right hem (as worn) acts as a lens cleaner for glasses, sunglasses and phones.
Parameta®A fabrics are rapid evaporation fabrics that help to keep you cool and protect you in warm environments.

All Parameta A fabrics wick very effectively, rapidly spreading perspiration over a large area to provide maximum evaporation in order to keep you cool at higher temperatures. It blocks virtually all damaging UV rays (UPF 50+), and the close weave deters biting insects.
Parameta A fabric comes in assorted weights to suit different requirements:

In what kind of weather conditions can I use my Katmai Light Shirt?
The Katmai Light Parameta A fabric is ultra-cooling, holding perspiration close to your skin and evaporating it to keep you cool. It provides UV protection so is ideal for warm, sunny weather. Because the fabric provides active cooling, the shirt may be less comfortable in cooler, windier conditions, especially if you get wet. In more temperate conditions, we suggest a wicking baselayer in Parameta T+ or Parameta G, if necessary worn under a Nikwax Windproof, to provide less cooling.
How do I look after this Páramo item?
This item works best if washed using one of Nikwax’s synthetic baselayer products such as BaseWash®or BaseFresh®. Unlike standard washing detergents, these products enhance the wicking performance of your kit and prevent odour build up.
