Tentipi gatherings are very popular in Europe, where like-minded groups of people, who share in common a love of camping in their Tentipi tents, get together to socialise, play and have a good weekend.
In April 2015 ProAdventure hosted the UK’s first ever Tentipi Gathering in Llangollen, and this year there will be an even bigger and better one.
In 2015 the Gathering saw 27 Tentipi tents and lots of people come together where, amongst other things, they listened to an evening talk given by Tim Gent – author of ‘Canoe Camping’ – and enjoyed a canoe trip down the beautiful river Dee.
ProAdventure organised many activities which included a night line, spoon carving, fire lighting, axe throwing and canoeing, along with a variety of competitions like the ‘best dressed tipi’ and a cooking competition. It was great to see so many tipi set ups – tarps were popular – as was the Eldfell stove, with over half the tipi owners keeping warm with their wood fired stoves.
Whether or not you own a Tentipi we would like to invite you to join us for the UK’s second Tentipi Gathering.
This year’s location and dates are now confirmed so follow this link for further details, but we’d love you to rock up with your own Tipi and join in the fun. Booking will be essential but don’t worry if you don’t have a Tentipi. You can hire one of ours at a special reduced rate and we’ll even put it up for you. Tipi hire will be limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.
The camping fee includes your pitch, use of toilets and mains water, lots of conversations and fun with free competitions and activities and offers great value for a weekends camping with our free activities (and perhaps a band for the evening if we can get hold of a big enough tipi).
