"The original Torridon was an iconic jacket that was revolutionary on release. In creating the new Torridon, we followed the steps which were taken when creating the original jacket. This took a function first approach, combined with authenticity, Uniqueness & a new sustainability element. The final result is a new iconic jacket which encapsulates everything which Sprayway stands for." - Adam Starkie - Sprayway Designer
Originally released in 1988 the Torridon was a must have piece for hill walkers by the mid 90s. The purple, green and yellow should bring memories back for a lot of people, if not walking on the hills then maybe it was the clubbing 90s nights out.
This is not a athletic fitting technical jacket for winter summit attempts in the Alps. Nor is it a breathable summer weight waterproof. This is a rugged, three layer Gore-Tex jacket designed to deal with the howling wind and driving rain that the UK hills throw at us. Its also the ideal Jacket for standing around in the rain and I'll be recommending it to the long boat skippers the visit our shop.
