Designed to outperform and outlast other brands, Páramo waterproofs do not rely on laminates, membranes or taped seams. Because of this, there are no elements to break down or fail over time, the garments still work when damaged, and they are easily repaired. Using Nikwax Analogy Directional Fabrics, there is no membrane layer to trap condensation, and the garments constantly draw moisture from within the jacket to the outside and repel water ingress regardless of the humidity, which membrane layers rely on to work. This makes Páramo particularly suited to and effective in UK weather, being both waterproof and 100% breathable.
Founded, designed, and still based in the UK, Páramo are industry leaders in environmental and ethical production. They are the first company to sign up to the Greenpeace Detox Commitment, and don't use any harmful or persistent pollutants in their production, including PFC's. The garments are made in a charitable manufacturing facility in Bogota, Colombia, in conjunction with a local foundation providing skills and jobs for 'at risk women'. Páramo also works with The World Land Trust on conservation efforts and carbon offsetting of all aspects of its operations.
You might not have heard of them (Páramo don't advertise), but their massive following of dedicated walkers (including our staff) will all attest to their performance, as do Which?, who rated Páramo as the best waterproofs for Water Resistance, Breathability, Comfort, Durability, Fit, and Warmth.
