Karesuando Carving Hatchet Dark Curly Birch/ Antler in Presentation Box

Karesuando in the very north of Lapland has had the tradition of handicraft since times when the sami people were nomads.

Living close to nature people found raindeer hide, horn, bone, masur birch, birch- bark, and wool.

These raw materials are still used in the handicraft production in Karesuando.

This beautifully crafted hatchet can be used to aid in the kitchen, harvest tinder or carving.

This small axe by Karesuando is a real work of art. Polished stainless steelhead with a dark stained curly birch handle that features a reindeer antler end and engraved antler inlays.

The length is approx. 23cm.

Leather sheath with Belt loop

Complete with sharpener and small reindeer hide.
