A great two days on the rock, with time for lots of rock climbing and bouldering, and with a little abseiling thrown in too!
Course Description
Our two day course is the perfect way to make you a climber. You will be shown all that you need to know to enable you to go out and climb.
At the end of the weekend you'll know about climbing equipment, safety, rope work, bouldering, belaying, abseiling, anchors, grading, guidebooks and leading. We’ll show you different climbing techniques such as jamming, smearing, mantle shelving, lay backing and chimneying. We may even teach you how to do a rock-over or an Egyptian.
When it comes to equipment you will learn about, ropes, nuts, harnesses, helmets, karabiners, figure of eights and belaying devices, as well as friends and prussiks.
You will be taught by a qualified climbing instructor on ‘single pitch’ routes on our local crags. At the end of the weekend we recommend that you join a climbing club or return with a committed partner who has also completed the course, for further supervised practice and instruction with your own equipment.
Whilst not a sport in it's own right, Abseiling is a useful skill for any climber, and there will be the chance to have a go throughout the course!

Hi,
Just wanted to drop you a line to say how great my two days climbing were.
I am sure it comes as no shock to you that both Dave and Tom were excellent. I think in both cases it was great the way the instruction seamlessly lead into coaching and then advice. I learnt what I was hoping to and then some, it exceed my expectations in both quantity and quality.
I know I was really lucky on the Tuesday getting one to one time with Tom and in addition to that because he paced it just right for me too it meant I learned a huge amount without over load and built loads of confidence. I know I am far from expert and need lots of practice and will still be relying on my fellow climbers for verification, but I am sure that is always the case no matter what level anyone is at.
So many thanks to Tom and Dave for their excellent tuition and patients and thanks to the rest of team too, a great service from start to finish. Also in a limited space you have a great venue indoors and great spots outdoors.
I learned lots, built confidence and really enjoyed all of it, even the rainy bits.
Also muchos gracias to Raul for his support, advise and patients as my climbing buddy on the Tuesday afternoon, it was much appreciated.
Now I need to practice and come back for some advanced stuff or maybe I can convince some of my mates to come rafting!!
Would 100% recommend Pro Adventure to anyone for any of the activities you offer, having seen the way you operate I am sure its all good and I am really hoping to come back.

I just wanted to say what a fantastic time I had and couldn't believe how much I did and learnt in 2 days. Dave Thomas our instructor was brilliant, he has an abundance of energy and passion which came across in his teaching, he made the 2 days fun and exciting as well as instilling the serious side of the sport, safety.
