White Water Safety and Rescue training is pretty much summed up in its name. This is a BCU endorsement course that is all about making you a safer person in the white water environment. It is also a pre-requisite for 4 star canoe and kayak assessments.

This is the course that sets you off on your way as a paddler (canoeist or kayaker).

The BCU 2 star award is the entry requirement to become a paddlesports coach.

The 3 Star Kayak award is about taking your flat water skills and making them GOOD (yes, we did mean to put that in capitals!).

Canoes are about travelling distances effortlessly, to this end our 3 star canoe courses look at how to control you canoe on flat water, looking at the required 3 star skills to achieve this, including good paddle choice, trim, sailing, and the actual paddle skills.

The 4 Star award is a peer- leadership award which will train you to perform competently on grade 2-3 white water and safely lead groups of other competent paddlers on Grade 2-3.

The BCU 4 Star Canoe award is a peer- leadership award, which is aimed at making you a competent and confident leader on moving water up to grade 2, and on open water with prevailing winds of up to force 4.

ProAdventure currently offer the new BCU UKCC Level 1 and Level 2 coach awards, and will run further awards as they are phased in.

The Level 1 Coach course is the entry-level qualification for paddlesports coaches in the UK.

The Level 2 Coach course is the next step for coaches.
