| Multi Activity 5 Day |
|
The idea of the multi activity 5 days is to allow you to relax, see plenty of the local area and try a nice mix of activities. Course Description During your 5 days with us, we will introduce you to climbing, abseiling, gorge walking, archery, white water kayaking and rafting. If you have done them before we will improve your existing skill level. The 5 days is programmed so that you get three full days of activities and two half days to enable you to have a rest and to use your free time to get to see the local area. More DetailsFor climbing we will use different locations throughout the day, so that you get a feel for different types of climbing. As we change the routes being done, you will be introduced to the rigging and the knots and equipment used. The emphasis on this day is to get you climbing, climbing, climbing, but with enough knowledge that you could enter into the sport and have a basic understanding. This is a favourite part of our multi-activity week and a popular group day at the weekend. An instructors favourite day out too. The gorge day works perfectly as in the morning you are going up a gorge, so scarmbling, climbing, maybe even using ropes. This is an amazing place, with the odd glimpse back down the valley to show you your progress. Our instructors love this place as you can only get into it by getting wet. The afternoon is in our local gorge, this is a great fun descent where your new found confidence in gorge walking is tested on the slippy, moving river bed of Cynwydd gorge The White water kayak day is all about you getting to grips with your craft and the skills required to get her down a stretch of local white water. A great day, if a little wet at times!! Archery - Learn to shoot with skill and accuracy - our expert instructors will have you hitting the gold every time with our quality recurve bows. A fun half day session for everyone! White water rafting is suitable for anyone aged 8 years and upwards, it’s full of thrills (and spills) as you paddle hard and hold on tight! The section of river you will raft is approximately 1km long, and you will usually take 4 runs down river, playing in and surfing on different sections of the rapids. There may also be the chance to try body-surfing too!

My new wife and I want to say a huge Thank You to the whole team! We came to Llangollen on 16th-30th August 2010 (following our wedding on Friday 13th August) looking for an adventure honeymoon and with help from you and the team that's exactly what we got. We started off with a half day archery course (Friday 20th) with Steff and Raul who were really good fun. (especially as Steff kept having to chase sheep away from the targets!) Even after we were rained off half way through, they quickly diverted and we went on to have a go at indoor climbing which was great! On Monday 23rd we booked a full day of outdoor climbing with Tom. We managed one climb and what seemed like a huge abseil outside before we were rained off again! Tom suggested we go to the indoor climbing wall at Plas y Brenin to continue our climbing. Tom is a brilliant instructor - he managed to get Heidi to climb right to the top of the wall which she wasn't too sure she could do! We had a great time doing all the different routes and challenges he set for us and he was very good at helping us see what to do next when we thought we were stuck! On Saturday 28th we went on a full days kayaking (mixed flat and white water) with Pete. We were part of a small group with mixed abilities. We started off not being able to paddle in a straight line but by the end of the day we were going over the rapids with the rest! We had plenty of time to play in the water and felt very safe with Pete who was very quick to assist with our numerous capsizes! It seemed Heidi and I preferred to travel upside down or back to front! We did think to ourselves that Pete was actually half man/half kayak as he made it look so easy! And last but not least was a full day of gorge walking on Sunday 29th. We must give a huge thanks to our instructor Graham and his trusty sidekick Sam! What a team! They had us in absolute hysterics all day! Please give a special thanks from us to Sam who was amazing-she is going to make a brilliant instructor one day and will be a credit to any team! We had excellent fun diving into the freezing water from various heights and positions (my particular favourite being the 'superman' slide which Heidi watched through her fingers!) Both Sam and Graham were great at getting the whole group to join in and weren't afraid to join in the fun with us-in fact Sam was usually the first one in and was really great at persuading us to take part with a few brave words or a nudge! I think this has to be our favourite activity and we definitely want to do it again! We can't stop raving on about what a brilliant honeymoon we've had and how much of that was down to you guys so thanks again! We will be back! P. and H. M. August 2010
