The perfect way to get into the sport of Kayaking. Our safe experienced instructors run this Kayak taster session on our local flat water to give you a safe fun exciting intro to Kayaking which will make you want to come back for more!
Our half day Kayak taster is all about you having fun afloat. We will start off by making sure your Kayak is fitted to you, your safety kit fits and works and then we will get afloat and teach you the basics of steering and turning, moving sideways and eventually look at improving your forwards paddling and steering. This session is all about learning whilst having fun, rather than intense coaching, so games a plenty, as well as a nice journey along the picturesque Llangollen canal will give you plenty of time to realise that being the master of your own craft is a pleasure that all should try. The kayak is a very versatile craft that enables you to balance manoeverability with poise and speed, but all this takes practise and patience. This session is where we give you the basics of steering and turning, as without these you would struggle with straight line paddlng. Sideways draw strokes are an essential part of kayaking, as is getting in and out under control.
All of these and more will be taught by our fully qualified and experienced kayak instructors.
