The 4 Star award is a peer- leadership award which will train you to perform competently on grade 2-3 white water and safely lead groups of other competent paddlers on Grade 2-3.

Duration - 2 days Training (obligatory) and 2 days Assessment

Pre-Requisites for Assessment - BCU White Water Safety and Rescue course. Evidence of undertaking at least 12 river trips, including experience as both a group member and as assistant leader, on grade 2 and 3 white water. A suitable First Aid award. A 3 Star award is preferred but not essential - if not held paddlers must demonstrate that they are at a competent 3 Star standard.

The 4 Star award is a peer- leadership award, which will train you to perform competently on river trips of up to grade 2 white water, and on open water with moderate wind conditions as well as safely leading groups of other competent paddlers in these environments.
